Reporting Lead - Oracle

This role will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Develop an Overall Reporting Strategy for the Program.  This strategy must take into consideration the fact that we are deploying a common solution but have to respond to the individual reporting needs of our customers (the 20+ departments that will be migrated to the solution).  Reporting includes oracle reports, form inquiries and queries from the OBIEE / Noetix solution.

  • We must articulate the strategy for global reports vs local/department-specific reports, reports that will run off production data versus reports/queries that run off a non-production environment, most effective manner to present the reports to the various user groups, etc.

  • The reporting strategy will need to be socialized with the PMO, key stakeholders from the 20+ departments and key members of the deployment Team including the Technical Infrastructure Team for an understanding of the various environments currently in place as well as those available for this solution.  

  • After approval of the Strategy, a Reporting Deployment Plan must be developed and implemented.

  • The plan may require a two phased approach; (1) Solution for the October 2010 go-live of two/three departments, and (2) Plan going forward to support the departments live on the common solution and plan for migrating those still on their legacy environment.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Have prior experience designing and implementing a reporting strategy

  • Have effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Have an understanding of the technology required to deploy a reporting solution (but does not need to have the Technical Skills required for deployment)

  • Have an understanding of the Oracle eBusiness Suite data structures and experience including 3rd party data within the reporting solution

  • Preferred: OBIEE and/or Noetix experience

  • Preferred: DoD Experience

    This resource must be local to the DC area.  The start date is immediate and our contract currently runs through January 26, 2011.
